The webinar titled "Enhancing Participation of Mobile EU Citizens in European Parliament Elections" was held on Tuesday, 19 March 2024, under the auspices of Election-Watch.EU. The primary objective was to inform and assist a diverse audience of mobile EU citizens, with a particular focus on young voters, regarding their rights and responsibilities in the upcoming European Parliament elections scheduled for 6-9 June.

The event commenced with a welcoming introduction by the moderators, setting the stage for insightful discussions. Speakers delved into international standards for youth electoral participation, reflecting on past experiences and addressing key issues, gaps, expectations, and reform proposals. This set the foundation for an interactive session where participants engaged in meaningful dialogue, posing questions and receiving clarifications.

A significant portion of the webinar was dedicated to emphasizing the significance of voting and the impact of youth participation on policy decisions. Experts shared valuable insights and strategies to overcome barriers to participation, highlighting the pivotal role young voters can play in shaping the political landscape.

Furthermore, the event showcased various engagement options tailored for mobile EU citizens, including information resources, helplines, and voter registration procedures. Difficult questions surrounding voting scenarios involving citizens abroad and the rights of 16-year-old voters were also addressed, ensuring comprehensive coverage of pertinent issues.

The webinar adopted an interactive format, allowing for audience engagement and the exchange of expert insights. Participants were equipped with valuable information and resources to navigate the electoral process effectively.

Overall, the webinar successfully addressed the imperative to empower mobile EU citizens and enhance their participation in the democratic process. By emphasizing inclusivity and representation, the event contributed to fostering a more robust and representative European Union.
